After delighting generations of Denver citizens and visitors with dramatic water displays and dynamically changing colored lights at night, the Prismatic Electric Fountain in Ferril Lake at Denver City Park no longer performs the fountain shows that made it so famous.  Old age has taken its toll and now it is only capable of spraying an unchanging stream of water into the air.

As we approach the centennial of the dedication of this beloved Denver attraction, a group called the Friends of the Electric Fountain has been formed to coordinate the volunteer efforts to help bring this wonderful source of great family memories back to life.

A total reconstruction of the concrete fountain vault, the labyrinth of plumbing and nozzles and the multi-hue colored lights will restore the Electric Fountain back to its full 1908 glory and beyond.  Fountain show performances featuring the dramatic interplay of water and light will return to Denver City Park.  During summer concerts by the Denver Municipal Band, the fountain shows will be synchronized to the music by modern computer technology.

We will celebrate the centennial of the Prismatic Electric Fountain on May 30, 2008.  Please join us in our campaign to reconstruct this beloved attraction and keep it running for many more generations of Denver citizens and visitors.

Your contribution of time, contacts or monetary donation will make a big difference!

The success of the reconstruction of the Prismatic Electric Fountain will depend on the contributions of many individuals.  You don't have to be wealthy to help us achieve our goal of having the Electric Fountain completely operational by the centennial of its dedication:  May 30, 2008.

For those of you without time or skills to volunteer, a monetary donation of as little as $25 will buy one more new nozzle to reach our goal.  If you are able to volunteer some of your time, we have lots of opportunities.
