The NEW 2008 Prismatic Electric Fountain:
|

|
2009 Schedule for the Electric Fountain
NOTE: Due to damage from the lightning strike on June 26, 2009 the Electric Fountain was turned off for most of the summer. The water features (without lights) were turned back on at a low level on September 4th and will continue operating until October 13th if there is no hard freeze.
The fountain will resume full operation on the Friday before Memorial Day in 2010.
While every attempt will be made to keep the Electric Fountain running for visitors to City Park, this schedule is subject to change due to the installation of new equipment, equipment maintenance and water quality related activities on Ferril Lake.
The Electric Fountain will be turned off for a short period during normal working hours for routine maintenance each week. The schedule has not yet been determined; it will be posted here as soon as it is determined.
The water displays and night time lighting of the Fountain are best viewed from the east and west sides of the lake due to the alignment of the water features along a north/south axis.
· 11:00 PM to 3:00 AM and 4:30 AM to 6:00 AM: the fountain lights will be off and the fountain display will operate in a mode to maximize the aeration of Ferril Lake.
· 3:00 AM to 4:30 AM: the fountain will be off.
· 6:00 AM to 12:00 Noon: the fountain display will change every 5 minutes on the following schedule:
· 00 to 05 minutes past the hour: Center Geyser · 05 to 10 minutes past the hour: Hourglasses · 10 to 15 minutes past the hour: Ribbons and Center Geyser · 15 to 20 minutes past the hour: Outer Spray Ring and Center Geyser · 20 to 25 minutes past the hour: Ring of Six and Center Geyser · 25 to 30 minutes past the hour: Middle Spray Ring and Center Geyser · 30 to 35 minutes past the hour: Cluster Arches and Center Geyser · 35 to 40 minutes past the hour: Peacocks and Center Geyser · 40 to 45 minutes past the hour: Middle Spray Ring and Center Geyser · 45 to 50 minutes past the hour: Pods and Center Geyser · 50 to 55 minutes past the hour: Great Arch and Center Geyser · 55 to 60 minutes past the hour: Outer and Middle Spray Rings
· 12:00 Noon to 6:59 PM: there will be a 5 or 10-minute fountain show at the top of each hour; for the rest of the hour the schedule will be the same as listed above.
· 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM: Continuous 5-10 minute fountain shows with the signature prismatic hourglass display pattern between shows. The fountain lighting will turn on at dusk each day. Since this time changes each day and also depends on how cloudy the sky is at night, the lights will most likely come on in the middle of a fountain show.
· 8:30 PM to 9:00 PM: Musical fountain shows will be scheduled during this half hour once the equipment has been installed and the shows are programmed. More information will be posted about this soon.
· 9:00 PM to 9:30 PM; Continuous 5-10 minute fountain shows with the signature prismatic hourglass display pattern between shows.
· 9:30 PM to 9:45 PM: Photographers Special - instead of continuous fountain shows, the fountain will hold each “look” for 30 seconds so photographers can capture their best shots.
· 9:45 PM to 11:00 PM: Continuous 5-10 minute fountain shows with the signature prismatic hourglass display pattern between shows.
A reminder: City Park is closed from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM during the summer. |
